Rest is Revolution · Kota Kinabalu, Borneo
50 Hours of Yin,
above the mist.
A ten-day retreat-style Yin Yoga teacher-training certification in the highland stillness of Sabah — where jungle meets sea and the mountains hold the morning. Restoration, wellness, divinity.
The invitation
Come up to the quiet.
High above Kota Kinabalu, the air thins and the noise falls away. Brahminy Kite Villa sits where the rainforest meets the Bornean sea — a hillside sanctuary made for the slow work of Yin.
For ten days you live by the highland's rhythm: mist at dawn, warmth at noon, a cool hush by night. Long-held postures loosen what the lowlands tightened. You leave with a 50-hour Yin certification — and a stillness gathered from the mountains that stays with you long after you descend.
A day in the hills
The rhythm of stillness
Each day follows the mountain — mist-quiet mornings, deep practice, forest rest, and study as the valley cools.
First light
Sunrise over the range
Rise before the valley. A silent sit on the villa deck as the sun crests the Bornean mountains and burns the mist gold.
Morning
Breath & deep holds
Pranayama in the cool highland air, then long Yin postures — the body opening slowly with the warming day.
Midday
Forest rest
A plant-based lunch, birdsong from the canopy, hours in the hammock. The jungle keeps its own unhurried time.
Evening
TCM study & nidra
Meridian theory by lamplight, philosophy circles, and a yoga nidra as the hills exhale into cool dark.
50-hour certification
The curriculum of softening.
A complete Yin foundation — philosophy, anatomy, energetics and touch. Open to all levels; no prior teaching experience required.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
The philosophy beneath Yin — five elements, organ meridians, and the energetics that give each posture its purpose.
Meridian theory
Trace the body's channels and learn how sustained Yin holds move Qi, release fascia and settle the mind.
Meditation & breathwork
Pranayama, silent sitting and yoga nidra — the inner disciplines that turn stillness into a practiced skill.
Acupressure
Hands-on point work to deepen release, support future students, and read where the body holds its weather.
